Lichfield 'nail' an awesome tournament victory !

December 10 2011 | Under 14 Boys vs Belper / Cannock | 0-0 Draw

Lichfield U 14 boys took part is a  most thrilling and exciting indoor tournament this weekend at Repton School. It was the first tournament of its kind organised by the ' Nailers' of Belper! For all but 3 of the Lichfield squad  it was their 1st ever indoor experience. The team of 8 were quick to learn the rules and progressed rapidly with each game they played.  After close battles with Cannock and Belper teams Lichfield found themselves fighting for a place in the semi finals. The semi was game was drawn and the move into the final went down to  penalty flicks. 17 exciting flicks in total, with Finley Saunders, Chris Sullivan and Oliver Mason taking on the pressure of taking the flicks for Lichfield while James Wilson performed superbly guarding his goal. After the nail biting semi final Lichfield went on to excell in the final against Belper. Final score 4 - 1 to Lichfield!  Champions on the day.
